Patients’ Welfare Association’s mega fund-raising event ANNUAL BAKE SALE gripped the audience with colossal zeal & enthusiasm, on Saturday 19th March, 2016, at 10 am till 4 pm at Civil Hospital Karachi.
Mr. Yonus Mohammad Bashir – President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry graced the occasion as a Chief Guest of the event. Mr. Siddique Sheikh, Chairman, Progressive Traders, Mr. Tariq Shafi, CEO Lords Impex and Mr. Ateeq-ur-Rehman, Advisor of Banking sub Committee of KCCI also honored the event with their existence.
Different stalls were assembled there like handicrafts, food, photo booth, games, flowers, balloons and fish. The event was visited by people from all walks of life including doctors, celebrities and people from the business circle as well as students.
The intent behind throwing such event was to hike up a generous amount of funds, in order to boost the existing services & the expansion of facilities provided to the unfortunate at PWA, completely FREE OF COST. While experiencing event’s prodigious success, the BAKE SALE generated 19, 27,480 rs. on a total.
Patients’ Welfare Association (PWA) is a non-political, non-governmental organization voluntarily run by the students of Dow Medical College since 1979 within Civil Hospital, Karachi providing FREE OF COST medical services to the impoverished patients of Civil Hospital Karachi via its BLOOD BANK with an output of around 250 per day screened blood bags, TB and GENERAL FOLLOW UP with over 300 registered patients, THALASSEMIA SERVICES with 275 registered patients, DRUG BANK and DIAGNOSTIC LAB catering to the needs of countless patients every day.
