" data-medium-file="http://www.dailypremiere.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Untitled-design-83-300x178.png" data-large-file="http://www.dailypremiere.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Untitled-design-83.png" />

In this rapidly evolving world of education, educators are incorporating innovative methods and approaches for the effective learning of students.

Nowadays, gamification is one of those approaches, using game elements educators are transferring the learning experience of the students.

By including game mechanisms in educational practices, gamification has the potential to increase motivation, participation, and knowledge retention.

The power of Gamification

Games have this innate capacity to attract young people, the attraction becomes a desire to achieve. By integrating challenges and rewards in educational activities educators can create an effective learning environment for students.

Research studies have shown that gamified learning experiences affect high engagement, and increase motivation and participation which directly increase retention of knowledge.

Key elements of Gamification

1: Points 4:Levels

2: Competition 5: Collaboration

3: Badges 6: Rewards

Real-World Applications of Games

We have discussed earlier in the article that educational institutions are using these gamified strategies to improve the learning outcomes of students. Platforms and apps like Kahoot! and Duolingo are successfully using these approaches to teach different subjects including languages, physics, math, etc.

Case studies show that students are not only motivated to learn but also improve academic performance as a result of a gamified learning approach.

Benefits of Gamified Learning

Gamification has many benefits for both educators and students for learning purposes.

1: Increase motivation and participation.

2: Enhance Problem-solving skills.

3: Personalized and Effective learning for students.

4: Data-driven insights for teachers.

Creating Effective Gamified Lessons

Identify the need for learning and then design impactful and effective gamified lessons accordingly.

1: Clear learning objective for students.

2: Provide Flexibility and Adaptability for students.

3: Develop feedback Mechanism for students’ improvement.

Gamification is not just a trend but a powerful tool to reshape education. With an understanding of the psychology of games and incorporating key elements such as points, levels, competition, etc

Educators have the potential to create a motivated, enthusiastic, engaging, and effective learning environment for students to make learning exciting and enjoyable.

COVID 19 has taken over the world, world countries face lock down. Pakistan follows. All the institutions whether governmental or non-governmental to be closed for 15 days from March, 22, 2020. The world is undergoing drastic changes, economies draining and stock exchange bears loss, education suffers, international and domestic flights suspended. As much as it damages the surface structure of the world, it also puts a psychological pressure on the minds of the citizens. In fact, it has taken the shape of a global trauma, a psychological war, an unknown terror, isolation is the only known solution to stay uninfected from this life-threatening COVID 19 so far.

Italy is one of the hardest hit countries from the COVID 19 pandemic since the death toll rises to 4,825. People all over the world are instructed to encourage self-isolation by social distancing in order to stop the spreading of the disease. On the lighter note, to relieve COVID 19 stress, people in Italy sang it out to lift spirits from their windows. Pakistan on the other side reported 3 deaths from the virus, while the confirmed cases rises to up to 600, the numbers may increase if strict precautionary measures are not taken on priority.

Kind people are a blessing in this world. They are the gems and the jewel in the crown of the world. The sense of love, affection, and fraternity to spread love is all included in kindness. And the people showing all these qualities are angelic and kind people which are needed to make this world a beautiful and peaceful place to live in!
Just like other countries Pakistan also has these gems which have proved them to be a milestone in the cause of humanity. Most prominent and leading name in this cause of showing virtues of kindness towards humanity, is Abdul Sattar Edhi, the founder of the Edhi Foundation.
Yes, he was a very kind hearted human being who loved to take care of depressed souls and sorrowful people. He was a poor man with a heart of gold. He had no money at all b, in spite of that he managed to collect funds for his organisation, which aimed to protect the insecure ones, to provide food to the hungry, to provide shelter to the homeless and to be available every time with all its ambulances wherever and whenever needed, all of the services 24/7!!
Edhi Foundation has been a very funded foundation from within the country and abroad too. People know that they’re investing their charities in a very deserving organization and that all of it will go in the right hands, all the needy people will have it. Abdul Sattar Edhi became the hero of the nation by the time and was loved by every Pakistani. Just because, he believed in the love of humanity and in doing all possible efforts he could do to make the world a better place for the humanity. He was a torch bearer of the brotherhood and eternal live amongst mankind that he had always emphasized on the fact that every human is worth a life and that, we should try to sort out the problems and issues our fellow human beings are facing.
The volunteers of Edhi Foundation are ever ready for when the duty calls, and anytime ready to provide services. The foundation also has old homes and cradles for orphan babies. Moreover, ‘dastarkhuwans’ are also arranged at the afternoon by the foundation to feed the less privileged and poor. Whenever any sad incident of terrorism or killings of people happens Edhi Foundation with their volunteers and ambulances are ready to serve. In a nutshell, Edhi Foundation does the job for the welfare of mankind.
This all is due to the endless sacrifices and hard struggles of the hero of the nation, Edhi Sahab. His death was a serious setback to Pakistanis and indeed an irreparable loss for mankind. He was the one, who even donated his own eyes before his death according to his will. Thanks to him for always being there for the suffering of humanity and have them the lights of hopes. For making our lives better and for making us realize that some angels appear in the form of humans too. His first death anniversary was held on 8th July and all the people remembers him in good words and prayers. A hockey ground in Karachi is also named after him, Abdul Sattar Hockey Ground.

Nation will always remember him as its hero and a very kind hearted person who devoted his life to the welfare of people. Who, even in his last days started charity campaigns being on a wheelchair and not quitting at all. May his soul rest in peace and may more heroes like him born in Pakistan, for he was the ‘RICHEST poor man’.

Social issues exist everywhere in the world but the only difference between a developed and a developing nation is the ability to cope with those issues. In a country like Pakistan, there is still very little awareness about this rampant and heinous crime. This is the reason why Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy made an entire documentary on it.

In my personal opinion, the problem is the lack of accountability. There are many cases of acid throwing that go completely undetected and are never recorded because the victim stayed quiet out of fear or because they were paid to stay quiet. This is a serious issue as it leads the perpetrator to believe that they can get away with torturing someone to the point where they wish to die or kill them. This issue has also weakened the victims. They believe that authorities will not intervene in the cases of justice being done are very few.

A recent Dawn News report claimed that 98% of the cases of acid attack go undecided because there are many loopholes in the law. For a matter, the work on this serious issue being done on it by the authorities is not up to the par. There are many cases that are not even reported and out of the few that do end up in front of the authorities, 98% do not even see their culprits going behind the bars. This pushes the poor victims into accepting the money from the criminals in exchange for silence. This system has made exploitation of the victim so easy.

Along with the lack of intervention from authorities, the acid victims have to go through many social traumas. Especially in the case of females where their face has been disfigured, they are looked down upon. They are confined to their homes and are pointed at when they go out. Basically they are shown that they have no right to continue living. Imagine their plight when they are the ones who have been wronged and they are the ones who have to hide while the criminals run free.

The owner of Depilex started an initiative where she has trained female acid victims with various beauty regimes and she has employed them at her own salons. It is an amazing step towards giving the acid victims a chance at a slightly normal life. In Pakistan more work is being done by NGOs than by the government itself. Our politicians are silent when they are asked to help with a social issue. This is a reason why we have so many NGOs. It is because the government is not doing its job right.

We should have awareness campaigns on the issues faced by acid victims and work should be done by authorities to come up with a better justice system for acid victims. The staggering figure of 98% undecided cases should be brought significantly down. These people need to see their culprits behind bars and lead a life that is free of exploitation.

However, we always bound ourselves in the name of hardships and problems that we face in our daily lives. This never lets us get out of our shells and comfort zones. It has been a reason we often miss those precious instants which are regarded as the moments of the lifetime.

Therefore, In the quest of some thrill, I along with my friends planned a journey to the place worth watching. It’s a fort and is named as Ranikot Fort. We were on a trip to Nawabshah, to attend a marriage ceremony. So, before starting our voyage, we sat together and planned our 3 days trip in such a way that we take out a bit of time in the way to visit this fort.

On Friday night, we left for the Bus station to find a bus for Hyderabad but failing to do so, we moved to the railway station so that we wouldn’t miss the train, unlike the bus. Fortunately, we got the tickets there and caught the train. We were very excited and enthusiastic about our trip but what we had to face in the train was the least we could have expected.

The passengers were overloaded and were made to travel like animals. All the credit goes to the Government though we somehow managed to reach Hyderabad station by standing for a period of 2.5 hours in the train. We could hardly move our bodies there as it was jam packed. Finally, we reached Hyderabad station at 2 am. We thanked Allah for all of His blessings upon us because what we had witnessed there was unimaginable. We moved to our hotel and it was the time to take some rest for the next day’s journey.

It was 7 am in the morning, and we were energized to take on the expedition. We traveled through the Indus highway to get to our location. It was approximately at a distance of 120km from Hyderabad. After covering a distance of 90km, we found a road towards the fort. There was no network coverage in the area which made my friends a bit uncomfortable. The desert was on our both sides and we could hardly find any kind of populace there. It was all barren.

Suddenly in the middle of the desert, we caught a view that was breathtaking. It was the fort constructed with different types of stone and was built between two mountains. It was approximately 26km long, starting from one mountain ending on the other. Previously, I tried to find out some matter regarding this fort but unfortunately, I failed. There were different contexts about its origin but none of them were authentic enough to believe on.

The scenes were incredible and were really amazing to watch. Everyone was enjoying the beauty of the place, the serenity of the air and peace in the atmosphere. Even after the feeling of joy, somewhere in my heart had a disappointment that Sindh Government should look after these kinds of an asset which add value to our culture. Although it is a heritage site but is unable to get any kind of care or maintenance. This thought had distressed me a bit.

Now it was the time to move forward because we still had a journey to go on and it was just a stop not the destination for us. We reached Nawabshah at night on Sunday and attended the marriage ceremony. As we had a dreadful experience in the beginning of the trip, therefore, we already bought return tickets so that we can travel back home in comfort. We left for Karachi in the evening and reached the city at night. The journey came to an end but the sights of that unforgettable place will always be remembered.

We live in a world which keeps on evolving every now and then. The world has entered a digital era so much so that everything that happens is publicized instantly. So, keeping that in mind; we all are living beings and this is why we all have rights. But have you ever wondered that how we tend to be particular about our own rights and ignore the rights of animals? Why? Aren’t they living beings? Are they inferior part of the society? Do animals do not get a say in what happens to them? Or is this acceptable to treat them with violence? Let alone abuse them emotionally and physically whatever may seem fit. Google and you will find statistics for every kind of abuse that exist in the world let alone Pakistan but for animal abuse, you will rarely find the right statistics. This certifies the fact that animals are considered to belong to the lowest sector of the society. Not only the street animals are abused and mistreated in different kinds of ways but they are also being killed just because the society thinks that it is becoming a headache for them.

According to statistics which are specifically pertaining to the inferiority of street animals such as dogs; around 700 dogs were killed in the year of 2016 in some of the areas of Karachi. Now tell me, is that humanity? We call ourselves philanthropists, we preach our religion to others, we call ourselves saints and yet we fail to care not only about each other but other living beings such as animals. Let me put you into a situation where you suffer like these animals do; you have been beaten up, starved and left on the streets to rot and then die. How would you feel? Of course, this situation is hypothetical but what we fail to realize is that this situation which is most unlikely to happen to human beings because they can speak up for their rights happens to animals all the time. Why? Because animals cannot speak up for their rights. They are innocent creatures who bear all the hardships and yet they are the ones to be blamed and they are the ones who suffer the most. So, if they cannot speak for their rights? Why can’t we do it for them? Is it that difficult? To put this in a bigger picture it’s not.

There are hundreds of cases which we witness in our daily lives that include violence and abuse towards animals and yet we ignore it. As social species, we have grown to be the selfish and self-centered version of ourselves. It might not apply to the minority of the individuals who live in Pakistan but it does apply to the majority of the individuals. We see violence, we see unethical practices, we see physical and emotional abuse and we ignore it because one way or the other those practices are not directly related to us. We hear stories, we discuss the current affairs and the next day we are all back to normal. As responsible citizens and let alone as responsible human beings our responsibilities does not only lie with ourselves but with the society around us. Animals are the part of the society and they should not be considered as the ones who belong to the lowest sector of the society. We should not ignore or excuse ourselves from such events where we witness such practices that involve abusing animals or even killing them to get rid of them. At the end of the day, they are living beings who crave love and belonging like all of us do. In this case, speaking up for their rights because they cannot speak up for themselves will not only an act of kindness but a step towards humanity which our society has lost in the middle of their race towards success, power, lust, status and what not.

It is true that majority of the individuals will prefer to speak about other social issues that exist in the society rather than protect animals from harm and danger. However, this is also one important social issue that needs to be addressed. Not only should corrective measures be taken in order to reduce the occurrences of this issue but people in the society especially children from the start should be educated about this issue. If we can install goodness within the youngsters from the start we can hope to see a better future where they will not be the reason to abuse animals and also speak up for their rights when necessary. Furthermore, the individuals should work together as a team in order to protect animals from the dangers they face in the society as a whole.

The time of them building an avalanche of dreams is spent in despairing about their future.
Thousands of students every year graduate from the most prestigious to mediocre universities with nothing but unemployment and dissatisfaction in hand. Even the jobs are paying peanuts as compared to the money and effort spent by them in return. This complex of a lifestyle makes them spend hours on social media, resulting in more depression and psychological traumas. The vicious cycle starts during the education years when the students are deprived of mentors or direction regarding their career choices. Many youngsters trying out their luck as entrepreneurs cannot due to lack of funds and investments.
There are several cases in Pakistan where students attempt suicide because of depression. Once they are done with their graduation they have no place to work, apparently, they stay jobless for a longer period of time. There are no public speaking forums or job fairs for such students who need counseling soon after their graduation. These all were just stories until I saw it happening in my own family. A very close family friend Shahzaib Khan attempted suicide as he was the only son of his dear parents and after his dad retired it was his responsibility to earn. His parents never forced him but his own guilt was killing him each day of not being able to pay back to his parents of their efforts. Their family reached to a point where they had to sell their valuable assets and started living in small apartments in Nazimabad. Shahzaib belonging to an elite family, living in Defence always thought of a good life for his parents and himself. But nobody can ever stop to what is written in faith. Trying his luck hard, being rejected from several companies just because these fancy companies prefer people with huge backgrounds and no ordinary can enter there. Seeing all these for good 3 years, Shahzaib lost hope and left his parents alone in this world as he couldn’t see them surviving and living a low life which he never imagined to give them.

A clueless youth need at least recreational places to spend their leisure time which is a necessity to improve productivity. The industrial cities have no public entertainment just the number of burger joints and cafes providing a lazy lifestyle causing a more genuine issue of obesity. The government needs to address this very serious social issue and bring outlets for our youth to vent out their frustrations rather than further masking it up into a personality leading to anxiety disorders.
It’s high time for everyone to be sure with this fact that a country with depressant youth can never flourish. With new restaurants building up at every other corner, demanding a lavish lifestyle to enter and paying not less than 1500 per head, where is everyone heading? This materialism puts the youth more into pressure hence getting misused many times. So many young girls and boys choosing wrong directions for fame and money just to get in the line of “who is better than whom”. Even after attainment of dreams, the youngsters seem not to be happy, why? Easy, because the new social media update by someone might just turn to be more likable than theirs.

Because the talent of youth is not being appreciated many of them leave the country to try their lucks in other countries hence causing a brain drain, which is again the worst circumstance. Government institutes are not even providing the education on par with the private institutes some of which are foreign-affiliated, creating furthermore educational disparity leading to depression.

Regarding this purpose many hazardous contents which have become the habit of people in their daily life even used more than their food, the government is trying to counter and ban. Use of beetle nut is one of those worst habits which is exploiting the human life rapidly. It is cheaper and grown widely in Asia and people are fond of it in spite of this fact that it is causing lethal diseases. It has a long history in it. People chewing it feel the change in their moods. It is even used as the mouth freshener in many of the Asian and Pacific countries. However, the awareness about the bad addiction of Betel Nut is spreading throughout the world. The scientific name of it is Areca Catechu. It belongs to the family of Palmaceae (palms). In Taipei, it is being restricted with the strict penalties to the citizen when they found spitting out the juice of quad. If the citizen were found using it then they would not only have to pay the penalty but they are subjected to the session of withdrawal of chewing Betel Nut. The Taiwan has also taken initiatives to prevent its people from such dreadful diseases of the world. They have tried to spread awareness in the country with interesting promotional activities and below the line (BTL) activities. The reason was obvious after recognizing every 9 out of 10 cancer was subject to chewing of Betel Nut in Taiwan.

World Health Organization use to take initiative to prevent people from the diseases such as Hepatitis C. It has emerged with the awareness planning against addiction of Betel Nut in 2012. It also included policy development and promoted it to different communities. Now again it has generated precautions against the use of Betel Nut that how it can harm the body part of the human being. The use of Betel Nut is also being stopped in UK and USA with the restriction of its outreach to the supermarkets. Products like Tulsi has been banned by the FDA and CDC involvement for prevention of the distribution of material through different channels. This initiative will support people to not buy the health hazardous item for themselves.

The hepatitis C is increasingly causing in the users of Betel Nut. The researchers have provided evidence that reason of hepatitis is cavity. The cavity is developed among teeth when people chew the Betel Nut. It has been assessed that the use of Betel Nut is greater in women rather than men. However, less educated people tend to adopt such harmful items.

After three dangerous addicts in the world, betel is at number fourth addiction of people. There is a vast history involved that features quality of the using Betel Nut. However, an adequate research has also been provided with the rise of different kind of disease with this habit.

This is the fact that addiction of anything is not good. Similarly, the people who have been the addict of chewing beetle nut with lime or betel leaf or in the form of sweetener, they are not only spending money to purchase them but also buying illness. The poor countries where people bear unemployment and poverty, these beetle nut kind of things are commonly available at cheap prices, and their craving is everywhere. People chew beetle nut with lime and beetle leaf which turns their saliva red, they spit and affect the aesthetics of the city and renders dirty teeth, dental and oral diseases. For this aspect governments of most of the Asian countries are trying to ban its import.

For its action, the Government of Myanmar has risen the price of beetle nut whether grown on its land or imported, it is unaffordable for the common man as its most of the users belong to lower socioeconomic class. This will be helpful for the state to counter at least some diseases, generally spread by beetle nuts. As well as Dhaka has started campaigns against supply of beetle nut by putting the ban upon its sell. Pakistan is also such country where it is addicted by inheritance. It should be banned and public awareness messages should be spread. Media should play a positive role and save the youth.

This concept of capturing people in prison came from British legacy after the division of India and Pakistan.

In Pakistan, there are four prisons for women, located in Multan, Karachi, Larkana and Hyderabad. According to the report of United Nations Office On Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Central Jail of Kot Lakhpat, Punjab, is the biggest Jail of Women in Pakistan in which 133 types of Women prisoners has been imprisoned including Women Murders 31.6%, Narcotics 22.5%, Blasphemy 1.5%, Robbers 4.5%, Kidnappers 9.0%, hurt by means of poisoning 3.8%, thefts 11.3% and miscellaneous is 15.8%. About 2000+ women imprisoned all over Pakistan.

Drawing some attention towards Women Jails, we can observe that the environment of these jails are highly weird. Females are normally using drugs, unsafe injecting practices, tattooing with dirty equipment’s, violence, rape and unprotected sex. About 800 female prisoners face harassment every year. They are often overcrowded and took poor nutrition, fail access to health care and high rates of airborne and blood borne diseases. Even though, pregnant women also faces risk because there is no fine dispensaries or even fine doctors to handle such kind of complicated cases.

Most probably Female faces depression after attempting any crime because they cannot handle sexual harassment by Police men or any other person in Jail. They are just living a life of aggression and violence.

According to my views, Pakistan Government should take serious steps about this issue because there is an urgent need to develop prisons. A proper and strict jail policy should be made for the betterment of the environment. The quality of food, overcrowding, a proper and satisfactory medical care system in jails should be addressed while considering a reform policy for jails. Evil criminals should be segregated from those who have committed minor offences. The normal practice of the sexual violence and harassment of women by wardens should also be a part of the reform policy. Women prisoners and juveniles should receive rehabilitation classes in jails, so that they become responsible citizens of Pakistan when released.
