Christina Mikkelsen, a Danish model has been declared the Face of Denmark. She secured the title of Miss Universe Denmark 2016 in a beauty pageant recently held in Copenhagen. Christina will now represent Denmark at the universal parade of delicacy and elegance titled Miss Universe 2016 pageant to be held later this year.
Mikkelsen is primitively a model in Denmark. She took part in a number of beauty pageants and has always been an obvious as well an eye-catching contender. Christina, in 2011, participated in Year International and has been counted one of the obtrusive pillars in the list of Semi-finalists. Later on, she competes for the title “Bride of the World 2012” and has been crowned as the Bride of the World 2012.

HOW HARD WAS YOUR JOURNEY TO BECOME MISS UNIVERSE?
We had the official casting for Miss Universe Denmark in the beginning of February. So many girls had applied, but only 17 girls were chosen. Afterward we had a lot of rehearsals, where we practiced dance, catwalk, interview and so much more. Sometimes the rehearsals were rough, practicing 8 hours of dance in high heels, and then meeting 8 in the morning the day after. But at the same time, it gave all of us girls the opportunity to get to know each other. At times like this, you can meet really good friends. We also had prelims, which means we had an interview with most of the judges, and also a photo shoot. In this way, they could meet us before the big finale and get and get to know us. The hardest thing about participating in a beauty competition is; there is no such thing as a bad day. You always have to be at your best, even when you’re exhausted. Sometimes it was a little tough, but it was defiantly worth it when I was standing on stage having the tiara put on my head.
WHO INSPIRED YOU?
I have always been into the whole pageant world, and I have always admired the women in the competition. I thought they looked strong and amazingly beautiful when they were standing on stage. One lady, who really inspired me to take the chance and participate myself, was Aino Korva, Miss Universe Denmark 1963. She is the only Dane who has placed in top 5 a Miss Universe. With her help and guidance, maybe I can do the same or even better.
DID YOUR FRIENDS & FAMILY SUPPORT YOU?
My friends and family supported from the beginning till the end. I couldn’t have done it without them. My family are, and will always be my greatest supporters.
HOW HARD WAS THE STRUGGLE?
A struggle is as hard as you make it. Of course, it was tough at times, but I choose to do this myself, and only I can reach my goals. I, therefore, do not think, the struggle was too hard.
WHAT SHOULD EVERY WOMAN TRY AT LEAST ONCE IN LIFE?
To be confident in doing exactly what they want to do. In today’s society it can sometimes be difficult to go your own way, and easier to follow the float. All women have to remember to be confident in their own skin. If you don’t love yourself, why should everybody else?
WHAT BRINGS YOU THE GREAT SATISFACTION?
I feel a great satisfaction when I feel like I’m getting something out of my life. When I reach one of my goals or made it out of my comfort zone.
WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?
Always be yourself. Don’t try to be what everyone else wants you to be because that won’t make you happy at the end. The only thing in life that’s truly important is to be happy.
WHO DO YOU FOLLOW ON TWITTER?
I don’t have twitter.
WHAT IS ON YOUR PERENNIAL TO-DO-LIST?
My to-do-list in so long, I can’t even put it on paper. I want to go skydiving, bungee jumping, have my own successful business. Make enough money, so I don’t have to worry about my future. Travel the world. Get married, and have children. Make a difference in other people’s life. Try to make a difference in the world. My list will never end, and I will always find new things to put on it.
WHAT QUOTE DO YOU LIVE BY?
With a dream and a positive mind, you’ll make it every time.
WHAT IS THE ONE THING PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I am kind of a tomb boy. I look very girlish, with long blond hair, high heels, and dresses. But I prefer to hang out with boys, playing PlayStation, go for a jet ski or do something that makes my adrenaline go up.
IF YOU WERE NOT A CELEBRITY WHAT WOULD’VE BEEN YOUR PROFESSION?
I would be and I will be an entrepreneur.
WHAT PROJECTS YOU ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
For career voice, Business owner, and entrepreneur. I want to be involved in project fighting bullying and help obese children. My main course, corporate with fighting cases organizations.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN NOT WORKING?
I do so many different things. I am a very active person, so I therefore get easily bored. I like to be with my family and friends. Go to the beach, eat at good restaurants. It all depends on which mood I’m in. Sometimes I like to be on the couch watching a good movie and eat ice cream.
DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT?
I believe in attraction at first sight. Nothing is greater than love, but I do think it takes the time to have that special bond between to persons.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?
Honestly, I have no idea. I live by the moment, and I don’t know what life is going to bring me. I hope I will have achieved great things, that I have made a difference in someone’s life. I have traveled the world and experienced new thing. I will know so much more about myself, and I will have learned and grown. I want to have a husband, children, and success at home and in my career. If all this will be within 5 years, I don’t know. But I know it will be some day.
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR?
My biggest fear is to look back at my life when I’m old and feel like I didn’t live my life to the fullest.
HOW WOULD SOMEONE GET YOUR SPECIAL ATTENTION?
I don’t think people have to do something special to get my attention. But I always prefer people to be humble and polite.
ARE YOU SINGLE?
I’m not single.
WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE YOUR NAME TO?
I don’t see any reason for me to change my name. My parents gave this name to me, and I think it fits me quite well.
YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?
I love food, and I like almost all kind of it. My favorite has to be sushi. It’s light, but at the same time makes me full. I just never get tired of it.
WHAT’S YOUR ONE ANNOYING HABIT?
My love for candy. I love chocolate almonds, I eat them way too much.
HOW MANY LANGUAGES CAN YOU SPEAK?
Danish, English, and Spanish.
WHICH CELEBRITY WOULD YOU LIKE TO DATE?
I don’t really have a special celebrity, which I would like to date. I have never really cared about people being famous or not. I guess I would just like to date a person I find interesting.
ANY MESSAGES FOR THE FANS & SUPPORTERS?
Sometimes it can be tough being a public person because everyone has an opinion about you. Supporters and fans are therefore very important. They make you remember all the great things, and cheer you up. I truly appreciate my supporters, from all over the world and all their sweet messages. I just want to say THANK YOU.
