Pakistan has been formally requested by Afghan Government to relax the Torkham Border crossing during the month of Ramzan, so that people could easily travel to and from Pakistan during the holy month of Ramzan and religious festival, Eid ul Fitr.
Afghan delegation met Pakistani border officials in which the formal request was made. The reason for this formal request is to minimize the difficulties of people which aim to cross the border with their families in the month of June.
Other issues were also discussed in the meeting which lasted for almost two hours. The main agenda of this meeting was the security on both sides of the border. Reportedly, Pakistani officials’ response to Aghan request was that they are open to any sort of co-operation which will lead to low security concerns and improved relationship between neighbors.
Final decision will be made by the federal Government.
